Beautiful folk pop to start the Sunday off from Mona & Maria.

New Music: Brighton

Uplifting Norwegian indie pop with lots of whistles and big hooks. Definitely brings a smile to my face. Check out here.

A Beyonce cover by Ane Brun & Linnea Olsson

I’m not Beyonce’s biggest fan but now that I hear this reworking by Ane Brun, it does make me appreciate ‘Halo’ more. Just slightly.

New Music: Tooji

tooji

Tooji had an ill-fated spell representing Norway for Eurovision last year. It was a brave song that sadly didn’t fare too well in the Final. Anyway, this track should set him on a new musical path that he deserves. Its a pop song that is simply epic in scale. Check out here.

First Listen: Margaret Berger ‘Human Race’

Margaret Berger - Human Race

The lady who did Norway proud at Eurovision this year is back with a new slice of electropop. It’s not as edgy as ‘I Feed You My Love‘, but it’s ok.

New Music: Kristin Minde

Kristin Minde

This will stick in your head all day. Norwegian twee pop with a 90’s British-indie vibe. Check out here.

New Music: Mona & Maria

Continuing with the fantastic talent emerging from Norway, just when you think this track couldn’t get darker, a magnificent chorus appears and lifts you up to a slight sense of euphoria. Such a special folk sound. Check out here.

The happiest song you’ll hear all week…

Erlend Øye

It’s sung in Italian, but it’s by Norwegian establishment Erlend Øye. So cute, so happy, so camp…

New Music: Emilie Nicolas

Emilie Nicolas

If you’re into your Oh Land! then chances are you’ll like Emilie Nicolas. This Norwegian talent blends sombre and airy pop with electro and a little jazz. Check out here.

New Music: Dreamon

Track of the week. Summery, retro-sounding hip hop from Norway. Check out here.

New Music: Adelén

Adelén

I haven’t featured any hard core bubble gum Scandi pop in a while – this is from Norway. Poptastic! Check out here.

New Music: Tommy Fredvang

Norwegian electropop. It’s sung in Norwegian but it’s still a pretty good pop sound. Check out here.

New Music: Meow

meow band

Track of the week. Soft electro pop sound from a Norwegian/ British duo that also blends in bits of trip hop. This is so nice. Check out here.

Ane Brun covers ‘Feeling Good’

The broody Scandinavian songstress has made a haunting version of ‘Feeling Good’. Lovely.
