Quirky, eccentric yet understated pop that shouldn’t make any sense but does. Check out here.

New Music: The Lines
A big indie sound with energetic, uplifting beats. This particular track has a certain addictive vibe to it, I just keep wanting to listen to it over and over… Check out here.

New Music: Monument Valley
Monument Valley (ie Londoner Ned Younger) has been causing a bit of a storm of lately when his beautifully Tongues EP & book was released, alongside tours with the likes of Daughter and Benjamin Francis Leftwich. His new single, the darkly tender ‘Your Cover Blown’ is coming out on May 7. Check out here.
New Music: The Darlingtons
Mike Skinner (ex The Streets) to produce new Man Like Me album…

… and this excites me to no end. The band’s new album is due for release later this summer and is produced and mixed by Mike Skinner. Originally on board to mix one or two tracks, Mike loved the music so much he insisted on working the full album and re-launching his record label The Beats to release it on!
The new single, ‘Squeeze’ is an electro/grime sex anthem for the 21st century, featuring Johnny Langer’s trademark observational lyricism. The video will be out soon. Included on the album and re-worked by Mike Skinner is previous single and live favourite ‘London Town’, which will be re-released in time for the Olympics:
The band will play a special one-off launch show at London’s Dingwalls on May 24. More tour dates to be announced.
First Listen: Erik Hassle ‘Stay’
He’s back he’s back he’s back! So excited! One of my favourite artists of recent years, Erik Hassle is back with a beautiful track that gets catchier as the track goes by- much like ‘Hurful’ was. I really can’t wait to hear more.
New Music: Joyce
I’m very excited about this one. Joyce is the moniker of 21 year old SW London chanteuse, Katherine Fussey. Keep The Lights On is her re-working of a Wave Machines song, transforming the original into a deliciously noirish, electro-pop song. Check out here.
New Music: Miriam Bryant
This has to be the one of the best songs I’ve heard probably all year- its so intense and epic and thrilling all at the same time. English born and Swedish raised Miriam Bryant, 21, found herself secretly visiting the remains of her family’s burnt down house a couple of years ago. Singing herself thrilled by the moody environment, and reminiscing a childhood with constant presence of music, this was when and where she realized she would spend the rest of her life expressing herself through singing and performing.
Over the next years Miriam will have to overcome her aerophobia when being welcomed to the bigger stages.
With childhood friend Victor Rådström, 20, writer & producer, Miriam is now releasing her debut single, “Finders, Keepers”. Check out here.
New Music: Queen of Hearts
I’ve known of Queen of Hearts for some time but never quite felt compelled to feature her, up until now. This is her new single and it’s as pop-perfect as anything can get. Check out here.

Love Don’t Live Here
One of my many guilty pleasures is my obsession with 70’s disco band Rose Royce. I just can’t help it. They made some seriously sexy tracks. Anyway, this remix by Kuhrye-oo is stunning.
Neneh Cherry
Neneh Cherry was one of my childhood obsessions (remember this?) Anyway, Neneh’s been on and off the radar for a while and now she’s back in a new project with The Thing- releasing their debut collaborative album, The Cherry Thing, on 18th June via Smalltown Supersound. This new album, Neneh’s first in 13 years, features the music of such diverse artists as The Stooges, MF Doom, Suicide, Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, and Martina Topley-Bird, plus original pieces by Neneh and The Thing’s Mats Gustafsson.
New Music: Ronya
New music from Finland. Bit of an epic pop song and I’ll be honest, she terrifies me a little. Check out here.

A dark, synthy, sinister beat is covered up by a really cute, gentle voice. It works. Check out here.

New Music: Boy Crisis
This project has been around for some years now but I’ve just stumbled across it now. Some would see this as a hot mess but I think it’s pretty good. Check out here.
