New Swedish electropop duo. Check out here.
Category: Swedish Music
First Watch: Alina Devecerski ‘Jag svär’
This lady has become pop royalty in Scandinavia within a matter of months. This follow-up single isn’t as catchy as her debut, but still packs a punch.
Paaniq!
This is the new single from Swedish electro newcomers Paaniq, featuring Rhianna Kenny. There’s a video to accompany this as well but I won’t lie to you- it creeped me out.
First Listen: Icona Pop ‘We Got The World’
First Listen: Josefina Stanner ‘Clock Stands Still’
This might be the happiest bit of indie you might hear all week. It’s the new single from Swedish indie pop newcomer Josefina Sanner.
New Music: George Vector
Tuesday nights are always such a drag. So have some fresh new Swedish house from a chap called George Vector to cheer you up, with Deborah Cox doing vocals on a track that seems to be having a bit of a resurgence of late. Good stuff. Check out here.
First Listen: Frida Sundemo ‘Indigo’
Frida Sundemo is one of my favourite Scandinavian artists, period. And yet she’s still so new I don’t know anyone to share this love of her with. Anyway, it looks like things are finally picking up for this talented Swede as this new track sounds super polished and ready for global domination. About time.
The most wonderful reworking of a Whitney Houston song you’ll ever hear…
Love Machine
New Music: Mila
We Go Oh
A happy track to end the last working day by Swedish producer Rasmus Faber and co.
New Music: YAST
Elias Sahlin ‘Windows (Part 1)’
Following on from first being featured back in September, enjoy this stripped back piano version of Windows (Part 1) by Swedish gospel newcomer Elias Sahlin.
Something for a Tuesday night…
Im really enjoying this laid back, dreamy remix by Klas Granström of one of 2012’s biggest Swedish tracks by Patrizia.
Swedish men on horses…
It might be your thing. Or not. Swedish super-duo Ansiktet just keep making the weirdest videos to their tracks but I love them. Anyway, see if you like it.
New Music: Kate Boy
First Watch: Johan Reinhold ‘Tears From The Start’
If you have to watch just one music video this week, make it this one. I am a huge fan of Johan Reinhold, and this debut video shows off one of the most stunning tracks to come out of 2012. Epic is not a word strong enough to describe this. Filmed at location in an abandoned boiler room to the infamous Swedish mental institution “S:t Jörgen Hospital” that was closed down almost 20 years ago.
Johan Reinhold is back with the release of his debut-EP “Tears From The Start” consisting of 4 brand new songs with his signature gloomy-pop-sound. The single with the same name is currently making its way to the Swedish charts and is on heavy rotation on Sweden’s biggest National Radio station, “P3”. The EP is out now- check it out here.
New Music: Full Of Keys
First Watch: Mary N’diaye ‘Big Dreamer’
New Music: Karl X Johan
Track of the week. Atmospheric, sexy and sublime from this Stockholm duo. Check out here.
