Here’s the video to one of the more epic Scandinavian songs to hit the airwaves this spring, from Loreen and Kleerup.
Category: Watch
First Watch: Thomas Azier ‘Angelene’

One of my favourite bits of electro this month, Thomas Azier has some pretty special visuals for his new single. Out March 4th.
First Watch: Niia ‘Made For You’
First Watch: Father Tiger ‘Head Hung Low’
This new track from Father Tiger is just indescribable – there’s electro, a bit of an 80’s radio sound mixed with a gospel vibe. Infectiously fantastic.
First Watch: Adam Tensta ‘Lights At Bay’
One of the coolest Swedes around, rapper Adam Tensta’s done a collaboration with David Sandström of Refused. It’s sinister and so good.
Kicking Monday blues up the butt
I had a very cute weekend in Copenhagen and so I haven’t been checking my mail and so on, so it might be a slow start to the week but I’ll get there! But let’s start the week with this gem of a track from Duke Dumont and A*M*E, I featured it a while back but here’s the video.
First Watch: Loreen ‘Heal’
And shortly after debuting her new track with Kleerup, Loreen’s released her new video clip for ‘Heal’. It’s hot.
First Watch: Azekel ‘That Feeling’
First Watch: Josephine ‘Portrait’
That Northern chanteuse Josephine is back with a lovely new single and video. It’s out on the 25th February.
First Watch: Lune ‘Girls With Bangs’
First Watch: Hurricane Love ‘Only Human’
I’m starting the week with the new video to one of the nicest sounding Swedish pop bands that have emerged from last year, Hurricane Love. It’s cute and rocky in equal measures.
First Watch: LCMDF ‘Paranoia’
First Watch: Beatrice Eli ‘It’s Over’
One of my favourite Swedes from 2011, Beatrice Eli is finally releasing her debut EP on March 24th. It’s pop with a dark punch, cut in a way that only the Swedes seem to do so well.
First Watch: Tyler, The Creator ‘Domo 23’
First Watch: Loveskills ‘Flash in the Dark’
I love this new track and video from Loveskills. It’s nice to hear a blend of different sounds fused together with so much thought.
First Watch: Frankmusik ‘Map’
I’ve been a properly devoted fan of Frankmusik’s for so many years. I was a bit heartbroken to see him dropped from his major label, but you can’t keep a pop prince like Vincent Frank down. Quote:
“I’ve got no money, no deal, no career plan. I’ve got nothing but my talent, my fans and the music I want to make. And do you know what? It’s fucking exciting.”
The Far From Over EP is out from today for free on his site, but do donate a little to Oxfam while you’re at it.
First Watch: Olly Murs ‘Army of Two’
You can’t go wrong with a bit of British radio pop every now and again. Olly Murs’ new single is out March 10th.
First Watch: Nadia Nair ‘Bon Voyage’
First Watch: Man Like Me ‘Sleaze’
New video from one of my favourite British bands. The single’s out March 18th and is taken from the album ‘Pillow Talk’ which was co-produced and mixed by Mike Skinner (from ex-Streets fame). The album is due for release on March 3rd.
First Watch: Ed Drewett ‘Drunk Dial’
The video’s finally here for one of my favourite new pop-lads in the making. Track’s out 10th March. If you like, check out the recent interview I had with Ed here…
