Justin Nozuka – Nova

With almost 700k monthly listeners on Spotify alone, Justin Nozuka is rapidly gaining traction globally thanks to his dreamy and finessed approach to RnB.

Today he shares two new singles – the A side ‘Nova’ (above) paired with B side ‘Closer’, both of which are as stunning as you could hope for.

“With these two I felt the pull to dive into a more contemporary sound. It’s the first time I’ve really gone in this direction… kinda scary but also very liberating. I’m just having fun with these two, exploring new sounds. Have been sitting on the Nova idea for over two years, played it for my manager and he was like – THAT – let’s get That.”

Sam Tompkins – (w)hole

Championed by the likes of by Elton John, Bastille and Justin Bieber, singer-songwriter Sam Tompkins returns today with new single ‘(w)hole’.

This emotionally charged piece reminds us that sometimes we all need to find that human connection to bring us out of an ‘ocean sized hole’.

“I think ‘(w)hole’ is sort of a realisation of knowing that not every problem in the world can be fixed by one person. If there is meaning or purpose to this life, it has to come from being and working alongside one another.”

Somebody’s Child – CRAZY

Dublin-based indie rock outfit Somebody’s Child unveil visuals for new single ‘CRAZY’. The song offers a raw insight into the inner thoughts of the artist, all the while contrasting these emotions with upbeat melodies and instrumentation.

“’CRAZY’ is definitely from the depths of my thoughts. A throwback to my school days mixed in with my deepest fear – going crazy.” – Cian Godfrey, Somebody’s Child

Taken from the upcoming EP ‘Staying Sane’ which will be released on 17th September 2021. They will also embark on a debut UK & Ireland headline tour later this year.

Two Another – Jump

Emerging pop duo Two Another return with uplifting new single ‘Jump’. Despite splitting their time between Stockholm and Amsterdam, the pair have never let distance come between them and have already garnered over 150 million streams to date.

“We made Jump at a turbulent time in both our lives, but what came out of this adversity reinvigorated our friendship and creative partnership. Lyrically and sonically it sets the tone for what you will hear from us over the coming months.”

Jeshi – Sick

Track of the week. Consistently pushing the boundaries of British rap, Jeshi has yet to release any work that disappoints.

At the forefront of every song seems to be it’s captivating and relevant lyricism, performed over rich soundscapes and sharp productions. ‘Sick’ is no exception, and is a track that holds your attention the whole way through. So watch out for Jeshi – this artist only continues to grow in strength.

Luz – permanent +1

Consistently crafting some of the most beautiful pop songs that I have come across so far over the last year, Irish artist Luz’s ‘permanent +1’ is an stunning celebration of our most valued relationships; those who we turn to for comfort and companionship throughout life.

“‘permanent +1’ is about the person in your life who is always there. Yes, they are the person you take with you to your cousin’s wedding, to a birthday party and to your family’s Sunday dinner. But they are also the person you take grocery shopping, who comes with you to a doctor’s visit and who helps you do your laundry.”

Luz will also be supporting JP Saxe on his rescheduled UK and European tour, starting in Madrid on 15th March 2022.

OCTAVIO the Dweeb – Nights Like This

Sharing with us a side of OCTAVIO the Dweeb that we have yet to see, ‘Nights Like This’ is a raw and angsty alt-rock track that’s all about the difficulties of being a striving artist.

This is an anthemic and grungy sound that is full of depth and texture, further showcasing the phenomenal range of musical talent that this kid has.

iamnotshane – Punch Me In The Face

Singer and songwriter iamnotshane is back today with an airy slice of indie-pop perfection in the shape of new single ‘Punch Me In The Face’.

The song serves as his first release via new label Snafu Records, and puts the LA-based artist’s alluring vocals and sticky-sweet melodies front and centre.

“The song is about needing tough love from a real friend, not the fake friends who tell you everything you want to hear. It’s a wake up call anthem.”

iamnotshane will embark on a European and U.S. headline tour from January 2022; tickets on sale here

Hailing from Los Angeles, RACKETS are an emerging rock trio who’s approach to the genre is refreshingly punchy, energetic, fun and rousing.

Wanna Know Ya’ is the kind of track that you want to hear played live somewhere late at night with your favourite people around you.

“It’s a song about that bubbly feeling when you are finally outside seeing people again, feeling the buzz of an excited crowd. Every face feels like a new story with endless possibilities.”

Boy Willows – Yello House

Landon Fleischman, the Los Angeles-via-Maryland musician who records as Boy Willows is back today with the fabulously eccentric yet minimal ‘Yello House’.

Running on the themes of nostalgia and memories, Landon was inspired to write the song around his parents moving out of his childhood home, saying:

where that leaves me, and those memories and what it means to no longer have that physical space I associate with a version of myself that I loved. But also, genuinely hoping that they can find happiness in a new chapter.

Sam Louis – Die Tonight

Canadian artist Sam Louis returns today with a deliciously dark slice of alt-RnB in the form of new single ‘Die Tonight’.

Made in collaboration with GRAMMY-winning mixing engineer, Curtis ‘Sircut’ Bye (who’s also worked with the likes of Brockhampton, SZA, EARTHGANG and G-Eazy), the song takes on the notorious cultural association between sex and death.

New Music: Dana McCoy

A Maryland-born songstress with one of the most sublime vocals you’ll have the pleasure of experiencing all week, Dana McCoy’s new single ‘Night After Night’ is a funky summer RnB bop that is sure to charm you over.

“It can be really beautiful to experience how you naturally get closer to someone. Throughout the pandemic, a lot of our relationships shifted and changed because we couldn’t interact in the same ways anymore. It was really beautiful to see who showed up in my life more and more and almost accidentally became the closest people to me.”

Basement Revolver – Skin

With lockdown shutting down their tour plans last year, Canadian dream-pop outfit Basement Revolver spent their time wrestling with questions about identity, faith, mental illness, and sexuality. One of the songs that came to a fruition during this period was ‘Skin’, a self-aware slow burn written by guitarist & vocalist Chrisy Hurn-Morrison.

The beautifully honest lyrics tell of the struggles that she feels with her body, yet ultimately the track has also helped her love the parts of her body that have often been scrutinised in the mirror.

Taken from the forthcoming sophomore LP ‘Embody’ which is out soon.

GiddyGang & Vuyo – Told Me

A fabulously refreshing collaboration between emerging Oslo-based ensemble GiddyGang and South-African/Norwegian MC Vuyo.

‘Told Me’ seamlessly blends hints of hip-hop, jazz, RnB and indie to form a song that is deliciously captivating, playful and hugely uplifting.

“It’s a little love song dedicated to my best friend and the journey from first getting to know each other to where we are today.” – Sarah Nærø Pettersenfor, GiddyGang

“I wanted to take an unconventional approach to a love song. I wrote it like I was a start-up and I wanted my crush to buy into my elevator pitch.” – Vuyo

Gustaf – Young Love

This perfect summer power-pop bop comes courtesy of Danish musician, songwriter and producer Gustaf. The nostalgic yet relatable ‘Young Love’ was inspired by his experiences of first love, and the inevitable first heartbreak that comes with it.

“‘Young Love’ is NOT a love song, and yet… It’s about once first love and the pain when the relationship fall apart, the worst break-up and the shattered dream of the one and only, whom you thought you should share your life with.”

Take an extra moment to also appreciate the artwork; Gustaf re-decorated his own bedroom to make it look like a teenager’s, just to get that flashback feeling of being young and in love!
