This Swedish band sing in… well, Swedish. But I’m really liking their sound. This new track is well worth a listen.

New Swedish electropop at it’s finest and most exciting. Materikaa, who I’ve made no secret of being obsessed with, have released a new EP. It’s out on the 5th March but you can already get a track now over on iTunes. I’ve already had the pleasure of giving it a spin and pretty much every track is a belter.

Lune continues to impress with her trademark dark Scandi electropop sound.

First Listen: Grenades for the Wall ‘Fight Your Battles With Me’

Feels like a lifetime since I wrote about this Swedish band for the first time, but it looks like they’ve finally been snapped up by a label and are releasing this as a single. Good!

Loreen and Kleerup… In the same studio!

This got me a bit excited. Loreen, of Eurovision fame, has teamed up with Kleerup, of Robyn ‘With Every Heartbeat’ fame. This is a preview of what’s to come, and it sounds like it will be a stunning piece of music.

I’m starting the week with the new video to one of the nicest sounding Swedish pop bands that have emerged from last year, Hurricane Love. It’s cute and rocky in equal measures.

This will stick in your head all afternoon. New one from quirky Finnish duo LCMDF.

First Watch: Beatrice Eli ‘It’s Over’

One of my favourite Swedes from 2011, Beatrice Eli is finally releasing her debut EP on March 24th. It’s pop with a dark punch, cut in a way that only the Swedes seem to do so well.

Nordpolen

I really know nothing about Nordpolen (Im not quite sure how I stumbled across this track either) but it’s so happy, I have to share it.

First Watch: Nadia Nair ‘Bon Voyage’

An epic video debut for an epic newcomer from Sweden. Nadia Nair is really promising!

Norway’s done good.

This is the song going through to represent Norway at this year’s Eurovision. I’m a little shocked at how good it is; not all the songs from the other countries have been chosen yet but this is already getting my vote. Something out of this world would have to happen for me to change my mind. Go Margaret Berger.

MOVITS!

MOVITS! are a Swedish swing/ jazz outfit that’s been around for some time, I’m feeling this new track. It’s pretty fun.

First Watch: Rhye ‘Open’

One of my favourite bands from 2012, Rhye have a new video which has already snapped up more than 300k hits on YouTube since the start of the month.

First Listen: Dida ‘No Hard Feelings’

New track from one of Sweden’s rising hip hop stars, Dida. This one plays with some of the vocals from ‘Hard’ by Rebecca & Fiona.

Probably the most unconventional track you’ll hear this week, this is from new Swedish group Black Madonna. It’s melodic, heavy and sad, but you just can’t define what it ultimately sounds like. Check out here.
