A fabulously feel-good fusion of Norwegian dream-pop and disco. On the one hand it feels charmingly retro and kitsch, while on the other it’s effortlessly cool and sleek.
“Lyrically the song speaks about a someone acting on impulse, not thinking about the consequences. Like a flying butterfly. Random and unpredictable.”
An Irish indie-folk outfit who are not only accomplished musicians individually (having worked with the likes of TOUCAN, Tiz McNamara, Ariel Posen, Stephanie Rainey and Little Hours), but are collectively also making a big impact, having performed sold-out shows across Ireland, the UK, Germany and New York following the release of their previous EP ‘Asleep in the Rain‘.
“The song is about falling in love with someone within a dream, and then waking up to a bleaker world, realising the love has left. It is bittersweet in it’s meaning, as it explains that the love is in within oneself, but also it has to be discovered past ones subconscious.”
Taken from the upcoming EP ‘No One Is Safe Here’, scheduled for release on 20th November.
While Frugaard is a new project, the talent behind the name is Reidar Opdal, who for the past twenty years has worked behind the scenes in the music industry with some of Norway’s greatest artists.
The sound itself is a raw and experimental approach to electronica that is highly charged and atmospheric, while the vocals hauntingly chant lyricism in Norwegian that feels eery yet awe-inspiring.
So So Sun are a British-based indie-pop outfit who infuse dark undertones of electronica to create a deeply rich, atmospheric and experimental sound.
The lyricism feels raw, vulnerable and introspective, which adds a whole new layer of intensity into a sound that is just sublime to experience.
“Written and recorded in the height of lockdown, new and past relationships felt like a different reality. Introspection based on past experiences, and next to no opportunity to make new, real connections. A time where we were all unavoidably exposed to our own feelings whilst being held in almost entirely digital reality. Those that really mattered came to the surface. Sharing intimate moments with others, different perspectives of love and how past relationships linger in the present.”
With the release of their new album today, the Swedish duo are back with another flawless piece of dreamy electronic pop that feels both intense and cinematic.
“The music is a result of our collective experiences musically and lyrically. Many of the songs are about our current life situations, about putting things behind us and looking ahead.” – Alexander Maksic, Ramverk
Taken from the album ‘Resurrection’ which is out now.
An LA-based duo who construct synth-pop by their own rules; this is a refreshingly gritty, raw and rebellious approach to a genre which is usually defined by electronic minimalism.

We don’t hear enough about Austrian pop, which is a shame because it’s a genuinely interesting music scene.
Mike Vallas is already on his way to becoming a household name in his native homeland, and this song could be the one garner him the recognition he deserves across the continent.
A polished sound with hints of melancholy, the track is complimented by his distinctive vocal carrying through a highly infectious melody.
There’s an indescribable sense of genius when I listen to Teezo Touchdown; you can’t associate any one particular genre with this talent, and yet somehow, his sounds all come together and make perfect sense.
A positive song with matching visuals is just about the most needed thing in 2020.
“‘Doubt Nothing’ again just does what it says on the tin. I was really particular about what song I was going to release following on from ‘Ain’t So’ and my mood and my energy and everyone else’s energy right now just needs ‘Doubt Nothing’, I’d like to think it’s uplifting. It’s just me in a song really.”
I really believe that it’s a matter of time before Alex Holtti’s popularity crosses over from Denmark to the rest of Europe. It’s just a very polished form of pop that is so easy to listen to.

This release takes an observant look at the use of social media and it’s control over us.
“Social media is a disease. I’ve been coming to terms with that over the last couple of years and there’s no doubt in my mind that the effects of it are detrimental, especially in young people and girls in particular.”
Some exceptional British talent here… A sound that harks back to those classic 90’s RnB sounds brings them to the future with a sense of minimalism and finesse.
Los Angeles born-and-bred talent Gabrielle Current delivers a beautifully mellow and dreamy piece of soul-pop that not only sounds gorgeous, but also showcases her refreshingly raw lyricism.
“‘Plenty’ is a question mark. Some ties sever without a warning. It’s about the unanswered questions I’ve had to internalise and a false sense of ‘confidence’ that often follows the experience. ‘Plenty’ is ironic, too, because what is plenty for the one that gets away sometimes leaves the other feeling empty. This is a song about that unevenness.”
Consistently delivering one stunning piece of lo-fi pop after another, bloody white returns with a song that reflects upon the heartbreak resulting from a former toxic relationship.
Taken from the upcoming EP, ‘some reflections’ which is released on 2nd December.
