Beautiful Monster is a great, great song. Just take a moment to really listen to it. It’s not cutting edge or anything, it’s just… great. That’s all.

Get People’s sophomore EP release Rain Tears is a slice of infectious, intelligent pop music. Rain Tears will be released on Friends vs Records on July 11th. Also check out a free download of their gorgeous track, ‘Away’ here.
First Watch: Fallulah ‘Out of It’
I was gutted when I missed Fallulah’s London show last week, but here’s her new video for ‘Out of It’. Love the song so much! There’s definitely something exciting about this girl, I can’t wait to see what she does next.
When Swedes do soul…
… they really go for it. Courtesy of Swedish Stereo, this is a video for a band called Ansiktet. And to the regular, non Swedish music fan it’ll just look like a standard video. But it isn’t a standard video. It’s got Salem Al Fakir, Peter Jöback, Christian Waltz, Christian Olsson (Fibes Oh Fibes), Musse Hasselvall, Mange Schmidt, Thomas Rusiak, Eric Gadd and Magnus Carlson guesting. These are very huge stars in Sweden. The song’s a bit standard but I won’t lie to you, it’s the most exciting thing I’ve seen today.
Capital FM Summertime Ball – The DJ Earworm Mashup
DJ Earworm’s been mashing up the latest pop tunes. This time it was made for Capital FM‘s 2011 Summertime Ball at London’s Wembley Stadium. ‘Party on the Floor’ features all the artist from this year’s huge event including Jennifer Lopez, JLS, Nicole Scherzinger and The Wanted.
New Music: Jessica 6
This is such an exciting artist. If you’ve seen Hercules and Love Affair live then you may have heard Jessica 6’s gorgeous voice. ‘White Horse’ is a free download and the best song I’ve heard all month, and I listen to a lot of stuff! Check out here.
New Music: Melody Thornton
Formerly one of the Pussycat Dolls, Melody Thronton’s going at it alone with this retro single. Check out here.
Free Download: Wakey!Wakey! ‘Twenty-Two’ (RAC Maury Mix)

New Music: The Fix
Swedish rock/pop along the lines of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and a bit of Lenny Kravitz. Check out here.
New Music: Aaron Delahunty
This is very new, very exciting stuff right here. Has some of that Lauryn Hill swagger, mixed with some South London attitude. And the voice is amazing. I am really excited about this one! Check out here.
Live: Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs at London Scala
I was in two minds about seeing Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs last night. If you don’t live in London I’ll tell you that the weather has been disgusting- it’s just been raining like mad. But I went anyway. It was probably the best gig of the year.
Totally blown away! I mean, it was just him fiddling about on some machines while some crazy girl dancers went a bit wild to the beats but I shuffled like mad. You have to check him out live- he will blow your mind! I think it’s those big hats he wears or something, but it’s pure genius.
First Watch: Lady Gaga ‘Edge of Glory’
Free Download: Penguin Prison vs Whitney Houston ‘Multi-Millon Dollar Bill’
One of my favourite current artists, Penguin Prison’s done a mashup of his new single, ‘Multi-Millionaire Remixes’ (out on June 5th) with Whitney Houston’s ‘Million Dollar Bill’. Very fun!
MP3: Penguin Prison vs Whitney Houston – Multi-Millon Dollar Bill (Mashup)
You can also download more remixes below – as well as a teaser for the upcoming next single ‘Fair Warning’.
Live: Tim & Jean at Gold Dust
There’s been a lot of buzz for this Aussie electropop duo. They’re in London to play some gigs and I caught them last night in Hoxton to see what all the fuss was about. They’re good live, I guess I’d call the whole thing ‘cute.’ The tracks are fun, but they also diversified and played Tom Petty‘s ‘Freefalling’ without one electro pulse in sight, which was refreshing.
Most of the crowd seemed to be Aussie too, so I can totally see these guys making a bit of an impact here. One of the other acts playing just before them, Caan, was exceptional. Will feature him!
First Watch: Friendly Fires ‘Hawaiian Air’
First Listen: Cher Lloyd ‘Swagger Jagger’
Let’s be clear about this – I despised Cher Lloyd from the start on the X Factor. I found her cocky, ridiculously tacky and annoying. That said, I like this track. I know it samples ‘Oh My Darling Clementine‘ and forces in just about every current pop genre in a couple of short minutes but its a hot mess I’m enjoying listening to. I’m sorry. Listen to it here.
Update: Little brat’s pissed off the song’s leaked, ‘”I’ve never been this upset ever!” Lloyd tweeted following the leak. “I worked so hard, and people wanna ruin it for me, if you wanted to hurt me you’ve done a great job (sic).
“please dont do this to me. i wish i was at home with my family, i’ve been through enough this year. me and my brats are stronger than this!! come onnnn! lets get em !!!!”
I’d be a bit glad to know people can’t wait to hear my music but whatever…
New Music: The Stow
A mix of indie pop and hip hop. Named Best Live Act 2010 by the Emerging Talent Awards at Camden Crawl. Their bio reads ‘The Stow are ready to enter the industry and couldn’t give a monkeys if you agreed.’ Go you. Check out here.
New Music: Stephanie
Again, Danish music doesn’t fail to impress. This is pure dirty electro pop. Just screams ‘wow’. Check out here.
First Listen: Lo-Fi-Fnk ‘Boom’
With a big throwback to French house comes this big tune by my favourite Swedish dance duo.
