Dana Williams – Answers

Dana Williams really is one of my favourite soul/ RnB songstresses from recent years. On this track, Williams delivers a relevant message in a gorgeously exquisite way.

“I wrote ‘Answers’ in response to getting a lot of questions about racism during the George Floyd and Breonna Taylor demonstrations. I didn’t have the answers for the people reaching out to me. I still don’t. But I think it is important to vote in this upcoming election. So much is at stake and we have to exercise our voices and speak up.”

Cero Ismael – Missing Out

A sparsely produced piece of alt-RnB that feels raw and dark, but still highly emotive and relatable.

“On ‘Missing Out’ I reflect on disconnection and the missing between two loved ones. Both started with a new phase in their life but can’t be together anymore.”

Maths Time Joy – Two Steps (feat. Kevin Garrett)

The Grammy-nominated artist, producer and DJ known as Maths Time Joy teams up with Pittsburgh based singer-songwriter (and Beyonce collaborator) Kevin Garrett on a song that is as flawless and perfected as you’d imagine.

“Kevin has been one of my favourite artists for a long time so it was an honour to get to work with a songwriter like him, he brings such sincerity to his work and it was interesting to work in a sonic space that is a bit more uptempo than both of us would usually sit.” – Maths Time Joy

New Music: Kenzie TTH

Boston-born, London-raised Kenzie TTH creates a bold and intense style of dark pop which is utterly captivating.

[The song] is somewhere between a zombie state and fever dream, in a moment when I was spending a lot of time in my bedroom for various reasons, only really going places via the memories of a twisted, almost-relationship that constantly probed in my mind. It’s that place where all you want to do is sleep to escape reality, but dreams only drudge up those memories, so you’re left in this weird state of limbo.”

Jónsi + Robyn – Salt Licorice

This literally is the most Scandinavian thing you could listen to.

“‘Salt Licorice’ is such a cute and perfect pop song. It makes me want to dance violently and make out at the same time. It was a no-brainer to say yes to singing it with Jónsi. The pretty emails I get with a thousand emojis in them from him is a bonus that came with our collaboration as well!” – Robyn

The Indien – Longtime Lover

Eccentric Dutch outfit The Indien return today with a loveable slice of soulful, retro-infused indie pop. Eclectic, unconventional and completely mesmerising.

“’Longtime Lover’ is a song about not standing your ground in relationships. The song starts off pretty mellow, mirroring the narrative of just going along with everything the lover wants, but in a dysfunctional way.” – Rianne, The Indien

New Music: Brooke

Representing a new generation of talent emerging from Northern Ireland,  Brooke has already made an impact after appearing on The Voice UK 2020 prior to it’s temporary hiatus.

Until the show returns later this year, Brooke has kept herself busy by crafting this banger of a pop tune with the help of London alt-pop duo RINNGS and singer songwriter lleo. And it goes without saying, the voice is outstanding.

Shaylen – Roll The Dice

Striking a perfect balance between pulsating and confident synthpop with the retro, Shaylen announces the release of her new EP ‘Temporary Feelings’ today.

This EP is a rollercoaster of emotions I went through over the last year, coming out of a really long-term relationship and thinking the world was ending. In the end, I reminded myself, everything— even feelings— are temporary.”

The EP ‘Temporary Feelings’ out now via The Heavy Group/ Republic Records.

Jada – On Me

Already an established name in her native Denmark, Jada continues to release some of the country’s finest RnB-pop. I think it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the world wakes up to this fabulous talent.

“I grew up in the 00s and this has shaped my creativity, my music, and my life. With this song, I was as inspired by this musical era as I wanted to. To me, this means combining elements of the outer space and infinite universe with intimacy, intensity, and drama. And I just love that.”

Shay Lia – Irrational

I never thought it possible that anyone could sample Junior Senior’s hit ‘Move Your Feet‘ into a slick piece of reggae-infused RnB, but here we are.

A magnificent release, truly unique in it’s essence, by the wonderful songstress Shay Lia.

Taken from the EP ‘SOLARIS’ which is out now.

New Music: Valley Boy

Mellow indie pop with a playful and nostalgic twist, crafted by childhood friends James Alan Ghaleb and Ian Meltzer.

“After spending so many years writing and performing for/ with other people, the music we’re making as Valley Boy is the cathartic release of just doing what we want for ourselves.” Ian Meltzer , Valley Boy.
