Alfitude is nearing another year of existence. It’s the longest surviving thing I’ve made and managed to not destroy and I’m pretty proud of that.
Anyway, Neon Hitch was my first featured artist on Alfitude and not much has come of her since then it seems, but this track is as candy pop as it gets. So have fun with it.
You don’t need to be a genius to know that Kazaky are aimed at one, very niche but very devoted market. I think almost too much, but I also think this is a great track so I’m featuring it. Their fiercely epic (would it be anything else) PR blurb reads…
The dynamic and fruitful 2011 brought to Kazaky a lot of achievements: the tens of millions of views on YouTube; attention of some of the most influential designers of the fashion world: Stefano Gabbana, Nicolo Formichetti, Prabal Gurung, Francesco Scognamiglio; cooperation with the house DSquared2; favorable reviews from such journalism giants as New York Post, GQ, Billboard, L’Officiel, Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, GOSSIPS Japan; awards in the categories “Best Band” and “Best Music Video,” and what is the most important – thousands of fans from all continents throughout the world.
My name is Alfie, this blog is called Alfitude and this amazing soul/ hip hop crossover band are called Project Alfie- but they aren’t connected. However, it makes me so happy to know that something that shares my name can be so awesome and brilliant. The epic, emotionally wrought track was released on the Universal Compilation R&B Collection 2012, which marked Project Alfie as the only unsigned act to be featured on the album. Following its release, it became the most downloaded track on the album during its first week on iTunes. Check out here.
This is one of those songs that makes you think you can take on the world and come out winning. Whether you end up succeeding is another matter, but this is done with two Swedish pop superpowers and is worth having on your iTunes.
I love Ansiktet, even though they bust their vibes in Swedish which can be a bit problematic at times. The video is a bit out there but the song’s pretty awesome.
I like it when remixes aren’t just speeded up versions of songs. This ‘re-version’ of Lana Del Rey’s ‘Video Games’ has a really cool twist to it, and it comes as a free download along with these other edits over on Sam Sure & Giacomo’s Facebook:
Their music draws comparisons to the likes of The Streets, Rizzle Kicks and Jamie T, and will be leading into the new year with the release of the understated debut, ‘Dark Inside’; deconstructed beats and heavy atmospherics lay the bed for an introspective and brooding vocal.
People aren’t sure if these girls will make any impact in 2012 but you know what- I think they’re all wrong. I love these ladies, and if this track is anything to go by what we are to expect over the next twelve months then AWESOME.
